TM500 Help

Hi all my TM 500 i frozen

when i turn it on it goes to the TV Wizard screen and asks me which setting to use eg pal, NTSC etc
then i select pal and thn save it and then 10 seconds later it pops back up again

on the box it says SEE

i cant access any of the menus change the channel

I have tried turning it off and unplugging it etc

what can |I do,

you could prob try flashing another image could be corrupt.

thank buddy also I have CCcam on there and 3 servers which i dont want to lose how do i back them up ?

also can I just use a com1 to usb cable for this ??

try switching receiver off at the back then hold the up arrow key on the front panel whilst switching back on, you should get screen with options , go to factory reset then try and reboot

you can also flash new image using null modem cable the same way.

infact that doesnt work that turn it of and hold the up button, none of the buttons seem to do anything

If you have not backed up the settings and all channel info then of course you will
Sounds like you did not set these up yourself or you would know that

if i conntect the tm 500 to the PC can i getaccess to the serversand seettings etc on the PC ?

Just to be sure I havent missed anything obvious, would you care to elaborate on what a proper setup consists of (I'm running the latest UR image, but happy to change if there is better out there).

I found the DS 4.3 image better than the UR image on my TM500

I didn't have the problems with the audio going out of sync with the video with DS4.3 as i did under UR.

The only thing that put me off the TM500 was the complete lack of images available for it.

As far as i am aware even EDG haven't done an image for it which is a real shame, as its rock solid on the TM9100

yeah i have some UR image it was messng up before with CCcam and kept having to reset it, now its just totally gone ad wont move past thepal setup screen :but apparently i lose my servers and i dont have the passwod unless i can get them from the box ?

chaps i have managed to getonto my tm500 using DCC 2.96

how do i back up the servers ?? if possible also i need to re-image

yguys reckon the DS 4.3 image is the best or better than the UR image

The only way you can back up your servers is if you can copy the cccam.cfg file from var/etc. as far as i am aware it can only be done with FTP over the network. Unfortunately you need to have the box running to do it.

To be brutally honest if your box has gone back to the setup screen, its doubtful if the settings are even there anymore

this is where i got to is this the right place i cant find a CCcam.cfg file for the life of me, they all come up none when i go into the root.

Sorry mate, I live in the Midlands

You won't get the file you need through that method. You need to use an ftp client like flashfxp or Dreambox control center. you can also use crimson editor also.

FlashFXP and Crimson Editor can be downloaded for free off the internet
