Seeing as I am about 3km from tomorrow's TdF route; Is it worth going along for a look or is it just a large crowd watching a bunch of cyclists fall off? (no offence intended to cycling enthusiasts)

You're not that far from me then....having stood and seen it through once, get there early (in time for the publicity caravan, so you can fight the local kids for the tat they throw away)..then be prepared for all of two minutes of excitement while the riders actually go through. Unless you are right at the stage finish, you're unlikely to see anyone fall off...

I saw the TdF on near a stage finish up on top of a mountain in Andorra in 2008. I loved it.

If you are the slightest bit interested in cycle racing its worth seeing once. :)

Not sure about that. During the 2012 Olympics we were not expecting much excitement as they went past, but the womens events proved us wrong.

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

True, but les gendarmes would probably put you in le slammer with Monsieur gourmand for quite some time...

Thanks for the comments. I'll see what the team thinks tomorrow and decide accordingly.

Armaille in 49. We've got the 18yo grandson with us and its his last day here tomorrow; I'm leaning towards taking him to Nantes to see the machines.

If you go - get there AT LEAST an hour before the bikes are due through because the publicity caravan is well worth seeing as well - and theres always the fun of yelling for sweeties, tshirts & all the other tat they give away as the cars drive past :D

We did get one team shirt but gawd knows what size it is - I cant get into its & its spectacularly tight on the missus ;) :-lmao

You're a fair way south of me...Don't think Nantes is easy to get into at the best of times, even when it's not TDF...The riders will be passing through about 20 minutes drive from here but I think I'd sooner watch it on TV LOL....anyway it looks fine this morning so I hope you have a great day...
