After successfully hosting the 2008 European Grand Prix, Valencia is preparing to welcome Formula One racing back to its shores this weekend. Ahead of the paddock's return, track officials have revealed details of the safety changes they have made to the street circuit, following consultations with the FIA and drivers. One of the most obvious alterations has been to the pit exit, which has been reworked to bring it to the same level as the track. As a result of this change the wall separating the two has been removed. The kerbs on the apex of Turns Four and Five have been extended, while the trackside walls at Turns Three, Five, Nine, 10 and 14 have been moved further from the circuit.
