Trainspotters
Allright I admit it, as a kid I was trainspotter.In the 1950's I used to go down to the midland street station.(LMS).Or the Courthouse station (LNER).With my little book of train numbers.Some times I would get the pull'n'push from the courthouse to the main line at cudworth.Hoping to spot a Winne or a Streak.I do not think that I ever saw a streak.but I did see at least one Double ender.(Garrett).Then they fazed out the steam trains , and came up with something called Deltic.It got boring.
So fifty odd years on.What is this old trainspotter doing.Well he is not getting trains to drafty old stations.
He is sat in a comfy old directors chair.spending lots of time scanning the sky looking for transponders he has not seen before.Members ask if anyone can get a certian transponder from a certain satellite.This member responds,Yes I can get that.Another one ticked of.
Now he is a Transponder Spotter.
Will he ever grow up.
It does not seem likley.
