Transferring to another computer

My Satellite Setup
3m(28.2E),1.5m(19.2E.13E,10E),1m (4W ,7W)1m (?).diseqc 10,sky plus,VU+,telergy iptv.
Satlook nit colour + Horizon hdsm.
My Location
Limassol, Sunny Cyprus
If I buy someones computer which is better than mine, can I transfer everything from my old one to the new one ?
 
Depends what you mean by everything, files and folders should not present a problem, programs cannot simply be transferred they have to be installed.
What operating systems are we talking about?
 
Well I have windows XP but I think the other one has also.Can I transfer my email account with asociated files(inbox,outbox,sent messages etc),my itunes and other media stuff with the stored pictures and music etc
 
You can export your email accounts and contacts then re-import them on the new machine.

The method for transferring your Inbox, Sent Items etc will differ depending on whether you are using Outlook or Outlook Express.

For outlook, you just copy the Outlook.pst file to the new machine. Look under ....

For Outlook Express, you'll have to copy a folder with all its files. Copy the following folder to your new machine. (It should contain a load of .dbx files)

Replace the entire folder.

Change red text to suit your setup

I don't use Itunes so cant help you there, everything else should just be a case copying the files across.
 
In XP there is the File and Settings transfer Wizard, I haven't used it in a long time, but I think it does transfer over a lot of stuff you might want, and you can select what to transfer and what to leave... :)

You can find it under Start-All Programs-Accessories-System Tools, it's fairly self explanatory from there... :)

I think it only transfers Microsoft stuff though, so anything not theirs will probably not be transferred and will have to be done manually... :(

For Itunes you had to make an account when you registered so when you login to the itunes account, it immediately recognises the login and looks up and re-instates your purchases and files on your PC IIRC. You can however only do this a maximum of 5 times

...does work (in most cases) ye get check box options of what ye want to transfer!...best route then after go back and drag the rest!...best luck...:toke:

I would slave the old hard drive in the new case, transfer only what I need onto the new drive with the new o/s, and keep everything backed up on the old one just in case.
