Transponer help for joker fool

My Satellite Setup
dreambox 500
My Location
au
My brother and I replaced our old receiver with a dream box 500s,
I don’t know anything about transponders and sat find, only by coincidence did I manage to get mine picking up and locking in satellites. My brother was still trying to get it working. I thought I’d right down all my settings and put them in his dream box. But it still didn’t work. Can some one tell me why please? What is the difference, why is this so painful
It searches but wont lock I beg some one please help me the jokers fool
 
You haven't provided any information about the rest of your system, or indeed what setting you have in your dreambox, for all we know he might have connected his Dreambox to his car exhaust and tried scanning.

Can you fill in the gaps please.

Unfortunately my brother passed away week after my post.
 
Please accept my condolences. I suffered a similar loss a couple of years ago, so know how you must feel.
