Guys,

I have a Triax T110D with multiarm focused on 16E. I've got a bunch of other LNBs on the arm including one on the far right of the arm for 4.8E. This LNB is a cheap one I had lying around (I believe its a Lemon) and the reception on this sat is only partial (about 75 channels exc the Viasat Premiership ones).

I'm thinking of getting a better LNB (Inverto Black) to see if that lets me receive some more channels which don't currently clear and had a daft idea I thought I would test here.

Do you think if I put a 6 degree monoblock (with the second lnb hanging clear off the far edge of the multiarm) I might also be able to pick up some of 1W or would the offset just be too much to even have a chance of working? Also, is the idea of improving the LNB for 4.8E is just a waste of money?

You should see an improvement with an Inverto Black Ultra.

Monoblocks have a built in diseqc switch in the signal path and many have a relatively low gain so I doubt it would be any better than the Lemon.

Thanks for confirming the Black Ultra will help.

Does anyone have a view on the idea of hanging a monoblock on the end of the multiarm - does it have a chance of picking up channels on 1W or will the offset just be too far? Was thinking of the Inverto Black Monoblock

No, stick to separate feeds xavk.

If you already have a switch selecting between the current LNBs you are not going to be able to control the switch in the monoblock. Also a monoblock does not allow you to skew the LNBs independently.

Thanks guys. As I suspected, a daft idea :) Will just get a single black ultra to improve 4.8E
