Hi mates!!.
I Live in Malaga (South of Spain, called Costa del sol), and i get all channels from Astra 28.2E, includes Astra 2D, with A 1m rotor dish, except the Astra 2A North Beam...

I think i get Astra 2d because there is a beam that isn't include on the official footprints for Gibraltar, and i near it (120Km).

My location is: 4.25W, 36N.

Any body can confirm to see the 2a North Beam Near me?

I get astra2d with 67% . i can watch BBC very well, but ITV channels gone at 20:00 Pm...

Thanks in advance!!

I can´t answer this for you but for someone to help please include what size dish you are using.

Triggs:cool:

Just seen that you have. LOL I´m back off to bed

You're dish is a bit too small for 2A north (the weakest beam in the south of spain) 1.2, or even 2.0m would be needed for reliable reception depending on your exact location.

Check (and add to) our dish survey here:

Also being able to receive 2D in the south of spain is probably just a fluke in the shape of the 2D beam rather than a deliberate attempt to include Gibraltar in the reception area. Another myth I heard was that Alan Sugar (Amstrad man) had requested easy reception on the costa del sol as he has a villa there!

I think SES Astra were aiming for the Canaries with 2D but missed.
(They succeeded with 2A and B, there is an official Canaries side lobe)
