Anyone got any troubleshooting tips for this hdd mp3 player? I was transferring some files over via usb when it switched itself off. Now its completely dead.....
 
It seems you are not alone, my daughter's Iriver suffered a similar fate

Hard drive failed
 
I now suspect the hdd has gone west. Its been lying around for a while but after pressing the power button a few times it tries to power up but doesnt seem to be initialising the hard drive. Then it switches off again.
 
That's a shame it looks like a neat piece of kit in the photo on Amazon
