Turksat 2A/3A at 42.0°E [East Beam]

hi - hvdh -
thanks for the signal report - all info is usefull -
the signal is greatly increased at your location :)

@ zorch --
to get a result with 1.2 -- even a fibo 1.2 is very good indeed ;)
the offset channel master 1.8 manages those two stronger tp,s ok - exept in very bad weather
the non motorised 1.8 Alcoa (petalised prime focus) which for the last 12 months has been aimed at 42 east to receive radio from 11054 H -- was a different story and took ages to find the right feed arrangement and feed/l.n.b. combination - that would do the job - and even now thick cloud and moderate rain can prevent it working --
An improved internet connection now enables me to listen to the radio station online, so the Alcoa dish may get used for C band experiments again soon -- :)

Just had a go at the east beam and managed to get a good signal on 10982H, and surprisingly a fairly stable signal on 11054H, although there were occasional drop-outs. Weather is overcast so will try again next time its clear.

very good result - SatSearcher - :)
be interesting to see if other t.p,s show up in good weather --

Good results this morning from the 3A east beam, as well as 10982H & 11054H, also got signal on 10965H & 11096H. Tried 10954H, 11628H & 11645H but no luck with those.

Hi SatSearcher, nelson_b et al,

Great results mate... I had a lock on 11.054H this morning... first time ever... but not a strong enough signal for images on-screen... so I'm going to wait until I do get a strong enough signal before I post any pictures... I also had 10.982H locking this morning with images on-screen... but I have locked this TP many times before... sadly I had nothing on any of the other TP's you mentioned... except for the following one... I have never managed to get a lock on this one before today...

11.645 H [2222] 3/4 DVB-S [QPSK] 3509 Kbps [East Beam]

EL-TR Kyrgyzstan [VPID 4194/APID 4195/PPID 7190] FTA

TM 5402 HD CI+ Super+
Signal Strength 90%
Signal Quality 51%

Originally when I locked onto this TP there was only a test card showing... then the channel started showing content... but the channel logo on-screen was not the channel logo for EL-TR Kyrgyzstan... the channel logo was for XinJiang TV 8 which is only to be found on ChinaSat 6A at 125.0°E (as seen in the pictures below) then there was a religious programme on with no channel logo... and now they are showing a newscast with the correct channel logo...

Has anyone else found this one...

Best Wishes,
Zorch

Coincidentally I extracted all the east beam transponders from the ini file and scanned this one myself around 6.30 this morning, the only one I got a lock on was ELTR (apart from three listed data transponders) but at that time there was no video at all so nothing to show for it.

Forget that edit, I'm going mad.

hi just tried -- and i,m getting this one ok -- i dont recall getting this one before though --
it is quite a bit weaker here, than 10982H & 11054H though --- these 2 are almost always ok for me on 1.8 --
anything else varies a great deal - although mid morning seems a good time generally if the weather is ok -and late afternoon/early evening seems a low point for 10982H & 11054H
i,v noticed from other postings on here and some other forums in the last year or two , that the north of england gets better results on the whole from tuksat east beams , than the south does.

Satsearchers results are quite remarkable from a 1.2 setup -- i,v never had anything here from east beams
using a 1.2 dish -- not even with a well tuned fibo - with a unrestricted view of the sat that i had setup last year - :)

I have to admit i was surprised myself to be getting a lock on so many of them! Mid morning does seem to be peak time for the 3A east beam, evening is quite poor for them, not getting any of them at the moment, but it looks like there's a thunderstorm brewing here so thats probably why! I will try again in the morning, if i get the same good results i'll try and get some pics posted.

I'd noticed the more northern viewers were getting better results too Nelson, I'd be interested to know how Pride does, same lat as us down here but further west although with a bigger dish. I think this is just a little too far east for my 1.8m.

hi aceb now i have done my extensions i thought i would try the east beam this morning at the moment heavy cloud and wind very strong moving dish to and throw but picked up two transponders 10982H and 10965H on the last transponder ATV is in clear all others scrambled.

Nice reception Pride, can't try it this morning as the dish is still tethered after last nights storm, I honestly thought it would rip out the wall around 9.30 last night. Gusting upto F10 for a time and although it's a lot calmer this morning the forecast is to get up again so I'll leave the guys on as I'm off out for most of the weekend.

hi aceb i dont blame you, since i have enlarged the dish i have noticed the dish moves more so i park it edge on to the wind, never had this worry before lol, looks like we are in for more bad weather.

hi all well tried this morning same as yesterday so i went outside to see if i ajusted the lnb and also ajust the scaler ring on the feed to get a bit more gain, anyway it worked kanal turk on 10982H went up to61% quality and atv also went up so i tried 11054H that came in see below cnbc-e and also 11096H cocuk came in,well pleased i also tried 10954H quality went up to 50% but not enough to lock the other two transponders were to low.cheers

Managed to catch these two tonight on the East beam with my 1.25 Gibertini. Haven't tried any others yet.

nice one Llew i found 10982H was on all day but the others faded some as we went in the afternoon, was that the same for you.

Didn't have time yesterday to try others, just the two mentioned. Tried this morning, just under the noise with my TBS6925, so no lock. Will try with my DRHD F15 later.

hi --
sorry i,m a bit late posting this --- i took the picture this morning around 10 -30
i,v not had this transponder before --- 11981 H 5200 -- TGRT BELGESEL and TGRT HABER

the signal from 11.645 H [2222] has gone altogether now for me at any time of day -- is anyone able to see it ?

the east beam signals vary wildly from this satellite--

regards nelson.b.

It's true that the east beam signals vary a lot, i've not had the good reception i was getting last week for the past few days, just getting 10982H at the moment. Never did manage to get 11645H at any time! Just tried 11981H, nothing for me on that one, but will try again in the morning, weather permitting!

Meant to add some signal info when finding these last night. Up again tonight, but nothing on 11981H or 11645H here. Need a bigger dish.

11054H OK here this morning. 11095H too, but badly pixellated.

Also, a feed on 11135H. Possibly 3A East, as it's low in SQ.
