Hi I will be using 6/8 set top boxes once i get my set up as i want it, and at times will be wanting to monitor a few all at once,

While sat thinking about this i wondered if i could use a cctv dvr, anyhow i worked out there should be no reason why not, a trip to maplins and two components and bingo it works :),

I just need to ebay a cheap 8 channel cctv dvr now :). might be a bit more complicated to do this via hdmi but picture quality is not important to me and a good solution to my problem :)

That is a cunning idea that seems to work well so far.

iirc there is at least one poster to this forum who has 4 or 5 televisions on the wall.

I think that might be a better solution for satellite because the PiP pictures are a bit small. The non smart versions are cheaper than the smart televisions, I guess that you wouldn't need the smart functions for this purpose.

Thanks Chris.

You have a few options to how many screens/sizes you want with the cctv dvr, and can also visually monitor my cctv at the same time if i wanted, pleased with this idea another one of my problems solved :)
 
That is really quite inventive Martin, :), I may suggest this to SWMBO as alternative to her zapping across 5 or 6 programs every few minutes, which I hate and is the reason we rarely watch live TV together
 
Thanks T, once connected to Ethernet you will be able to monitor it from your mobile/laptop from where ever you are in the world :cool:.

At a CATV company I worked for we had 128 TV monitors on one wall, we had to monitor all the cable channels we supplies to our customers, it was crazy watching some 120 shows at once, (8 channels were not in use) the swing and graveyard shifts got to watch the mature content channels, there was a big demand for the switch and graveyard shifts.

I only have 3 set's in one room, and that's in the lab.
 
I will give it a go after I have eaten.

My tm5302 has the yellow socket on the back.

Good stuff Chris that two so it should work on any box, I will be using this port to send the pictures to different tvs and the scart on the main tv :)

That's the only downfall A/S, i said the same to the wife this afternoon and been looking at 60 inch tvs most of the afternoon :-doh
 
I just can't believe it was that easy, with an iPhone/android app you would also be able to set your dish up without some one on the other end :-)

Yes pal so easy when you think about it and useful in so many ways place shifting as well, we will have to start a streaming session in sleepy hollow for peeps who cant get certain channels football request's/something :), I have set my dish up in a similar way in the past but yes also another + :)
 
The streaming idea is genius! If the broadband is up to it! We might have to try some thing between us.
