TV PIP

The streaming idea is genius! If the broadband is up to it! We might have to try some thing between us.

Yes Chris i am sure it will help certain peeps with programs etc, and a few of us will be putting this in place, unsure where we stand with it though so might be best posting in SH once one of us as it setup, I am on a slow connection atm but in the coming weeks things will change going with bt fibre, I should have it setup by then :).

Quite agree. I live less than 50 meters from the main telephone exchange, all other parts of Yeovil is all fibre, but my road is not :-( so I am stuck with adsl.

That's no good pal, mobile BB no good ?, I get silly speeds here from my mobile on EE.

Just done a test on the mobile 4G signal, it is only just beating my adsl on the upload.

The ping time is a lot slower on the 4g.

Plus I need an unlimited adsl connection as I am a heavy user. With mjpeg cameras at 2 locations, and I have 320mbps net radio running nearly all day and night.

@Vipersan will be wanting to improve this idea :D

Its got no valves inside its out of his league :D,

OK back on track while Evan has a think about this :), the PTZ option could easily be converted for skew/polarisation, things like this I love messing about with I just don't have the time atm :( hopefully this time next year I will have the time to play and make things work:).

Wow that was quick, good luck with the setup, although it should be a breeze. How many Stb's will you be plugging in?

Indeed pal, eventually they will be at least 6 and a couple of sat cards connected up to various tv/dvr. the beauty of this new idea i don't need to run any cables to the summer house, i will just use a laptop and stream it to tvs that way using the dvr:)

Chris i cant access my cctv online still not got round to sorting the password out, when your viewing online and change the camera view does it change the view back home or does the camera view stay the same please pal ?

On the ip cams I have that have ptz, when I change it on the mobile app the view at home also changes.all the cctv that goes it to the dvr are fixed.

It's only the ip cams I have at the other house that can move.

Thanks pal, this box as an nvr option, thinking about this i have at least on box that's wifi :) i am sure we should be able to get it to work this way as well :D

I have an 8 channel DTR CCTV unit with PTZ (not that I use it) ...and ethernet ..
Worked fine for my security cameras and the one on Christina ...plus a couple of rca composite video inputs from other sources ..
Mine also had audio inputs on the first 2 camera sources ..
Sadly all but made redundant by win 7 ...on account this dtr of Chinese origin never had new drivers for PC released after XP ..
So still works fine as part of the network ..but have to power up in XP to use it remotely.
Time to replace it perhaps ??

I will set mine up later and attach a few boxes Evan, the internet is just an added bonus, I hope you realise I was only having a bit of fun with a few of my posts mentioning you pal :).
