TV ratings: Celebrity MasterChef final gobbled up by almost 6m

The 2010 Celebrity MasterChef final attracted almost 6 million viewers on BBC1 on Friday, 20 August.

Friday's final, won by Lisa Faulkner, was watched by 5.789 million viewers and attracted a 25.1% audience share from 9pm.

Celebrity MasterChef comfortably won its slot and significantly boosted its ratings compared to last year's final, won by Jayne Middlemiss, which attracted 4.4 million and 21% in mid July last year.

Friday's 9pm competition on the other main channels consisted of BBC2's Home Movie Roadshow (1.442 million/6.3%), a Doc Martin repeat on ITV1/ITV1 HD (3.371 million/14.6%), Channel 4's Big Brother (2.954 million/12.8%, C4+1 183,000/1%), and Channel 5's The Mentalist repeat (1.216 million/5.3%).

BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Channel 4, Channel Five (available in all UK homes with TV, except Channel 5, which reaches about 95%)

8pm: EastEnders - 7.993 million/36.9%)

10pm: Roger and Val Have Just Got In - 1.087 million/5.4%, BBC HD 20,000/0.1%

ITV1/ITV1 HD

7pm: Emmerdale - 6.219 million/33.4%

Channel 4

10pm: Pete versus Life - 1.722 million/8.6%

Channel 5

8pm: Police Interceptors - 1.079 million/4.9%

And yet some 14m watched Eastenders/Emmerdale (and probably more than a few watch both, and then the omnibus editions).
