Hi everybody,
Would anyone know what is the best transponder to use when trying to pull in Sat at 42 dregress East. I am having no luck with it. I wonder if the: ARC: is crucial or is it out of my range here. Anyone on the East coast of Ireland bringing it in. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi John
Yes you can get 42e here on the east coast of ireland. The Transponder I have listed is 10.968 V 4557. What sats can you receive at the moment.

Many thanks for your reply. I am pulling in almost everything between Hispasat at30 West to Eutesat W4 36 east and the singal at 36 east is very strong and can see no block in the sky at that position. I have pumped in the numbers you gave me, but alas no joy. My thinking was to try and get the strongest transponder {singal] to focus in on the Sat. and then look for Tv8 from there. John.

I pulled it in the other day with that tran no, so maybe your motor might be a degree off. If your going to move it make sure you mark it. By the way what way are you trying to receive 42e. By usals or manual.

Moving it over step by step from 36 East Manually to42 East. I have just noticed that on most of the transponders for 42 East I am getting a" tuning error" flashing on the screen and the ones that allow me to go to the next step no luck. So maybe there is something wrong there.I cant figure out " Tuning Error" I have put in 10968 v but still get" tuning error". I am not ready to give up yet. Only 3 weeks at it. I am going to watch that football on 42 East. John.

I have the same problem with my setup.All sats from 30W to 28E are strong.
33E i get 40% signal.From 36E to 42E i get nothing.A few weeks ago i managed to get a signal from 42E by moving the dish round manually at the motor and lifting the dish slightly.Im think the motor needs adjusting very slightly toward east as John says.Also an article in a satmag suggests this so i will give it a try in the next few days.

Also according to flysat TV8 carries the original sound.Does the football have english commentary?

Hi All,
Sorted my" Tuning Error" Problem.Adjusted the numbers in LNB settings took care of that. [Phew] After that ploughed through 21 transponders, not a pip. Pete as regards the commentary dont know till I get it. Do you think it is something to do with the Arc going so far of the middle point [For me 13 east middle point] being critical.

TV8 broadcasts only Turkish commentary.
 
Hi John

Have u tried receiving sats west of Hispasat such as Panamsat 43W?
Try adjusting the dish up or down at the east and west end of the arc to
see if the signal increases.Take a look at the table below
eg if u need to move the dish up at 42E and down at 43W u need to rotate
your mount to the east slightly
I think this is the problem i have

Dish movement required to increase signal

East---------South--------West-------Correction required

Up-----------Up-----------Up---------Decrease inclination

Down--------Down--------Down-------Increase inclination

Up-----------Down--------Up---------Decrease declination

Down--------Up-----------Down------Increase declination

Up-----------*------------Down------Rotate mount east

Down--------*------------Up---------Rotate mount west

note : Your mount needs to be exactly vertical

I never really looked at the matches on 42e, they are usually on 13e TPS foot. Can you get TPS john

Yes am watching football on TPS on a borrowered patched rec.[Comag SL55] Have to give it back at end of Month. Hence why I was excited by TV8 at 42 East.{F.T.A. it says dont know what B.I.S.S. Means] My Samsung 9500 CI has no patch available And the only cam I have has gone on strike.Iwill try the Up- Down Method on Sat. Morning and see how I get on. Again many thanks to everbody for your help. John.

TV8 scrambles the football using BISS. Only certain cams & patches opens it. Ive seen a comment recently that a dragon will work. Do a search for the other TV8 threads for the info

You need to change the BISS number, just put a 1 as the first number and the football will be unscrambled.


CAN'T BELEIVE I POSTED KEYS, MUST BE GETTING PAST IT. :-DOH!

You missed the days of fta promiership in the skies above Europe by 2 years.

Even with my patch I couldn't get the football (and no cam on my FTA receiver), only when I changed the BISS number did the football unscramble.

If you can change your BISS number, it's well worth a try

John what cam have you got, and what area do you live in. If your nearme I will sort you out. Have some spare cams & cards.
 
Hi All,
Just to let you know[ and may help others]I moved the dish over to 42 East and nudged it up slighty and the singal came roaring in. All other Sats o.k. I think my problem was the pole not spot on vertical. Many Thanks for help from everyone I would be lost without you.
No problem with the football I bought the SL55 from my mate. Told him it was rubbish.
