Two dishes one receiver?!

My Satellite Setup
Still looking which one to buy.

Dear Colleagues,

I’m a newbie to the whole satellite business and need a little bit of assistance.

I’ve just purchased the Technomate TM 5400 CI USB Super receiver. At the moment, I use ex SKY dish for it (panting at Astra 2D)
I also have Cyfra+ decoder hooked up to the 80 cm dish pointing at Hotbird satellites.

From what I gathered, the TM 5400 can read Cyfra+ cards due to the multicrypt card reader.

My question is: is it possible to connect two dishes to one receiver (the TM 5400)?

I’ve read that I would need a Disecqc which for it, but I got really confused about the committed or uncommitted switches.

Which one would I need? Also, I’m planning to motorise my system at some point. In that in mind, what switch should I buy?

Thank you in advance.

You just need a Disqc1.0 switch. They are the most common, in fact you will have a job to find anything else.

Just google Diseqc switch, or get one from ebay UK.

It will be either 2 way or 4 way, normally.

A Diseqc1.0 switch will also work within a system that has a Diseqc1.2 motor.

As Robbo says, a DISEqC switch - I bought one on ebay for less than a fiver! :)
