It is not for servicemen.

Modern receivers like the Vu+ Duo have no problem at this symbol rate.

You won't get a card for that system.

You only need a big dish in Spain for BBC1 and 2, all other channels are receivable on an 80cm dish.

i have an old strong srt 4375 dual analogue and digital reciever, just sat on a shelf
would the analogue tuner pick anything up

never heard of one of those before lol, if it`s satellite I`m not sure whats still about thats analogue

when I mentioned analogue, I meant channels 1 to 5 through a tv aerial not analogue satellite

if you can see that bird and get a lock on the channels, try the keys, you never know they may work but I very much doubt it, if they do work, dont brag about it because they`ll just change the keys if they get wind of it and you`ll be back to square 1 lol

You are wasting your time - if you read the thread Llew linked to a few posts up you will see its not BISS encryption being used - it'll probably be something developed in house by the BBC technical guys

Apart from which, if you have to trawl the Interweb to seek out info then it isn't there ............... If anyone had succeeded, it would be splashed across all the Satellite Forums (Until the BBC then changed/tightened up the transmission methodology).

Your are not wasting anything - look at the German Sat-Board DxTv - there is a tread how to get it working.-)

and yes its Biss - and yes the Keys are updated which you will find on the net....

<it'll probably be something developed in house by the BBC technical guys<

the only thing they did - if you make a scan on the Transponder - you get the Channel Names but no V-Pid, A-Pid and Pcr - so you have to edit the Channels by a Channel editor on your Pc - put the correct Pids in - and send them back in your receiver!

I should've been more clear in my wording in the post referred to AS - as the CAT tables aren't actually transmitted, it's not readily known which encryption system is being used, Biss or otherwise.

Just use Chrome's built in translator thingy to do the hard work for you.

Last time i looked they were using Cryptoworks and Irdeto not BISS?

Come to think of it I can't ever say that i have ever seen BFBS using BISS ever, its always been Cryptoworks :D

Both encryptions are totally different to BISS. The only way to get BFBS is to either have the card or to get it on an illegal cardshare.

hello,
BFBS uses cw system.i never seen anyone here in naples use card sharing on this bfbs system.
the book shows the bbc stream on 27.5 west using biss mpeg 4.
since it takes a large dish and all its not realy worth the bother.
we would have to find someone that works with this system in the uk and uses it for digital terrestial to know what they use for sure.

OK, nabbed it. BBC1 shown, all other channels on the TP OK too.

Nothing compromising in the way of keys shown, all innocent stuff anyway (CAID, provider ID)

Went to the site mentioned and managed to obtain the necessary info, cheers. Only fair to register too. All academic really, as we have the channels anyway, but I'm always game for a go at something different occasionally :)
