I agree. I hardly think Forum chatter figures as a significant source of intelligence for Satellite Operators, Broadcasters and Platform Providers.

On the contrary, if they do take any notice, they probably admire the lengths some will go to in order to receive UK targeted transmissions.

Broadband speed increases mean iptv services (legal & otherwise) are far more available these days anyway Losing access to the sat signal doesnt have to mean loss of Eastenders......

What is most acceptable for most people, more dishes taking a broadcast or more iptv streams hammering bandwidth and increasing contention?!

Indeed, me having to rely on iPlayer now actually means using more BBC resources rather than a satellite feed which makes no difference to the BBC.

does anybody have any experience with these iptv solutions? i read about half a dozen of them online...their website seem a bit dodgy...no online reviews...if these provide "filmon" quality picture, i dont see them as alternatives

That depends on your browser and the ability to get add -ons, firefox is best from my experience with the right free proxy can stream iplayer and other uk channels with no significant degradation.

but think this subject is way of topic

afaik the BBC, ITV, and other 'content providers' push out the live stream like a broadcast and the internet providers copy or split the stream as needed. It is a bit like a big SMATV system in a house so the broadcasters do not take any kind of hit.

The iplayer and its equivalents are managed differently. I forget exactly how. Downloading is normally better than watching live.

There's plenty of people charging for private streams on various forums. They use something called a mag 250 iptv box but can't talk about it as they provide channels that definitely aren't allowed to be privately streamed and also the nature of forums are not allowed to be discussed on here.
