Yes, I got a confirmation from other forum members and confirmation of a 3-4 db signal drop within 500 km from the Zagreb location.

4-5 dB is a huge drop for most of us, we all are experiencing the same.
In my case, the only solution is a bigger antenna, today i have 65cm for Intelsat27,5W ( i usually got 9-11,5 dB on 65cm and now maximum 7,3 and its fluctuates, 6 dB is enough to get an image (breaking) and over 7 is good)

Yes, you in England can receive with small antennas. I am far from England and until now I had a reception of 12.5 db with a 1.5m antenna. the coverage beam will change again.

It should not surprise those of us outside the footprint. Intelsat 901 was from the beginning when it was moved to this position with a weaker signal than 907. It is still an old satellite and moved here as an interim solution.
( I can also think of the wrong option; who knows? they reduced the signal to limit the radiation to a smaller coverage area. :unsure )

I am NOT in England! I live in Stockholm Sweden!
And If I would live in England I would certainly watch BBC via Astra28,2 E :D

Could well be they reduced the signal since it well cover UK with a much lower strength.
53 dbW is not necessary for those the signal is intended for.

Hey guys - I901 is an elderly satellite - its quite possible shes having power issues now & Intelsat have had to turn the power down a bit

Or they have just turned the power down as there is no need to run the transponders & amplifiers at 100%. There is plenty of signal in the UK for the Satback sustaining feeder service. All you guys outside the UK are not the intended audience & to put it bluntly are irrelevant!.

All this is understandable. I recently noticed a drop in the signal and I asked for information if the same thing happened to other hobbyists in Europe. Personally, it is still interesting for me to catch the signal of someone who, according to satbeam, should not be hunting at my location.

Here in the eastern Canarias the signal is well down and showing the strengths and weaknesses of various tuners/dishes where I live. Our communal system has what I think is 1.1 metre dish with old Technomate 5200s and is suffering intermittent lock ups, although the boxes are showing 71%. My own zgemma H7 on an old 1m already dropped from 49% to 41% earlier in the year and has fallen to about 31%, with intermittent complete drop outs. Off the same dish/lnb however my Octagon SF8008 is showing more like 40%. Both use same version of openvix. Earlier in the year when we saw a dramatic drop, it came back up a bit - let’s hope so, but I think a bigger dish is going to be needed for me.

Seems to have recovered a bit today - roughly as it was before it dropped. Seems to be like what we saw in mid May where it dropped for a few days then returned. Maybe it is part of the realignment process with the MEV?

I don't follow these channels - they are uninteresting to me. Personally, I am more interested in signal reception via satellites. Btw, it does not matter at all who the channels are intended for. It is a pleasure for me to have them in the signal reception for better orientation of the fine settings of the clark.

Ok now we know your viewpoint.
I think there might be others finding it interesting who the channels are intended for.
I personally get the channels from 28 E.

Those of us outside the footprint, plus if we use a small antenna, have every reason to be concerned about the drop or disappearance of the signal in our area. We've been through this condition several times since Intelsat 901 replaced 907.
I moved the antenna this evening to 27.5W on the Ku band. I have not noticed an alarming drop in signal at this position in the Ku band.
I'm not sure if the situation is the same in the C-band right now, but in June, I scanned the satellite, and even though the signal dropped/weak, I still managed to receive the RTP programs and noticed some muxes on the spectrum. At this point, I did not try the C-band signal again.
Here is how the Ku-band atm and C-band signal looked like in June this year:

What stops you getting a larger antenna ?
