Water divining using dowsing rods (a branch of witchcraft to some) is being used by many water companies to locate leaks, springs and hidden pipes.
In dowsing (also called water divining), two bent lengths of metal rod are held parallel in the hands, and as the walker moves over a possible water source, they swing apart.
Good luck to them - I tried myself once using heavy guage copper wires to locate a possible underground ditch running along the length of our rear service alleyway, which is always wet and muddy. And they swang whenever I walked directly across the alley at any point along its path. Autosuggestion maybe?
