Was at a customers the other day and he wanted to get his cable rerun as had joints in it etc. He pulled out a roll of cable and asked me to use this. It was a 100 m roll cellophane wrapped and had a sticker on it showing 29.99 Euro. Not sure if he got it here or bought it over with him from Ireland.

In the first picture you can see holes in the outer jacket - these were done with my thumbnail as it is so soft. Also note the foil.

In the second picture I have turned the foil over and................

Would you like fries with that??

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Looks like they've bought some dodgy "fake" cable, there was something about it on one of the various BBC dodgy dealer programmes, one with Dom Littlewood I think, showing all the different sorts of imitation cable sold as the genuine thing with safety standards codes printed or embedded into the outer sheathing, but when tested, they failed all tests... :-ohcrap

And how on earth did they get Heinz tomato ketchup wrapper foil in there? :confused

Pretty unbelievable that someone? would set up the equipment to make cable and then use toothpaste instead of plastic. Truth stranger than fiction!!!

i Refuse to use White Cable of any type / Brand name . its not waterproof whatsoever and far too easily broken as shown above , Black Sat Coax Cable only ... much more solid and stands upto weather and water much better . In Pics in post #1 really does look like some cheap sh*te ....Deffo should be lookin at a refund for that rubbish Roll of Cable .

The colour of the cable is of no significance.

White black brown whatever can all be crap, or all be first class stuff. Buy from reputable supplier a benchmarked or equivalent cable.

Amazing bad that though trigger and not exactly cheap either.

I would hazard a guess the production of cable is just one in a factory where they also make foil packets, and the reels were swopped

Expect some plain silver ketchup sachets will turn up in Ireland at some point.
