hi,
im trying to undestand dreambox

if I buy the dreambox 500s, I can decode channels like Warner and those from sky?!

I have an antenna of my old Dire c tTv system, I can use with the 500s?

Is dreambox 500s really good?

Yes for any satellite channels which use the same type of polarisation and frequency bands that your dish LNB is designed for.

But if I cant get sky channels, whats the really advantage of a dreambox?

And why dreambox have emulators?
 
A dreambox is just a highly configurable receiver. Its not a magic box that will automatically give you all channels for free.
 
If the dreambox is highly configurable, there isnt any way to configure it to decode encrypted channels???
I just cant undestand why the dreambox is so "good"
What about Cams, whats that?
 
Many pay tv services are COMPLETELY secure these days, so if you want to watch them you have to access a subscription card.

Cams are just bits of software that emulate the cams that go in the slots of ordinary receivers. there no magic to them - they just read the scrambling keys from the cards inserted into them.

Sky Brazil uses the same scramblig system as Sky UK, so there no way whatsoever to open it without a subs card.
