unlocking of second hand digibox

Hi Folks,

I just registered and enjoy your forums very much.

My sky digibox is on the blink so I bought a much newer one second hand on e-bay.

When I switch it on it works fine except when I enter my viewing card I get a message saying that it is the wrong viewing card for the box.

Can anyone tell me how to re-set the box so it will accept my existing card and I can use it to view the full range of channels I subscribe to already.

It should work for the family pack channels.

The only way to get it to work with the premium stuff (movies & sports) is to ring sky and ask them to pair the card with the new box.

Yes,it should work on family pack channels but that is providing the card is activated.
Usually "wrong viewing card for the box" error comes up when the card is not activated.
 
Not necessarily Iceman, trying to view any premium channel with a non-paired card will produce that message.

I can back this up. Normally works for ftv and all standard $ky packages.
