My Satellite Setup
Sky (UK),
FTA Analogue 19.2E,
Win XP,
SuSE 9
My Location
UK
I'm thinking of upgrading my 19.2E fixed analogue system to digital but am unsure of what box I should get and whether I should point my dish at a different bird.
I'm looking for:
  • An easily patchable receiver for less than £90
  • The site where I can download free cam patches
  • Howtos on patching
  • A satellite (not 28.2E) that has the best range of english channels
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated - many thanks - gr8 forum btw

There is not one, there are a number of channels on 13 deg East and 30 deg West that sometimes transmit two or sometimes three languages on say a film or documentary but English speaking broadcasts perse are confined to 28.2 deg East it is called a monopoly but I am not allowed to say that....:-DOH! Ooops hope this helps

For a bit of extra, you could add a second LNB to your dish, and feed them through a Disecq switch, which would let you pick up 28.2 and 13 or 19 on one receiver (I'm guessing you've still got one of the big dishes from S*y's analogue days). Otherwise 30 west is probably your best bet for English language programmes, if you don't mind subtitles in another language
