Hi . I need your help please. I have a matrix reloaded cam and 2 funcard 6. I'd like to update the mr to the 1.08 version. Whitch softwares are able to program the fun6 and how. I've already tried chipcat and masterburner programming the 1st card with the loader as a flash and mr1080_FUN6_1 as an eeprom, I did the same with the 2nd card except for the change of the eeprom into mr1080_FUN6_2 and when the cam asked me to put the 1st card I did what I was asked to do and then it says invalid card please extract it. And when I programmed the fun6 whith a fun5 file it says performing smartcard download please wait... After about 10 s it says card not responding or extracted. The samething for a fun4 file. Please HELP!!!!!!!!!

Sound slike you are doing the right thing, are you sure that you have the Eeprom setting right in the programmer software?

I used the fun6 update as my CAS2 is sick. Programmed mine with the Elvis. Flash = Toeloader from Toecutters plus the eeprom files as mentioned above. No probelm on 2 echostars.

I was referring to the identification of the card's Eeprom, but also are you putting the file in the external Eeprom and not the internal.

No i've respected the identification of the card (AT90S8515 + 24C1024) and I've loaded the file in the external eeprom. For information I have a mastera 3 programmer and currently I use masterburner v2.3 and I have winXP

Perhaps may be worth trying a different version of the file and loader, where did you get your present one from?

Neo, I also have trouble upgrading the MR using Fun6s - I know only too well the message "Card not responding or extracted". I finally succeeded on Saturday to upgrade to 1.08 but by loading Fun5 files on the Fun6 cards (this is a 4 card download).

I'm not sure whether it is significant but I find that letting the first card default to download (ie insert the card but don't hit "OK", just leave it and it eventually downloads) improves the chances of success. And also if you have success with the first card, the others seem to download no problem. But of course I can offer no rational explanation for any of this.

Best of luck.

Neo, I expect you will have to consider other options like the CAS2 or a laptop. I have been threatening for some time to buy a CAS2 but haven't done it yet. I had got myself a couple of titanium cards (luckilly just before the rush) which meant the version of MR that I ran didn't matter so much - so I just put off the purchase. I also have 2 MRs and they are both exactly the same - a real pig to upgrade with fun cards. A few months ago I had thought that letting the CAM cool down first did the trick because that worked twice for me but that theory also got blown! It seems to me very much a hit and miss type operation (mostly miss for me, I'm afraid) which must be down to the type of receiver, and oh so frustrating when you know that you are programming the fun cards correctly.

There's a CAS2 in the raffle incidentally - and somebody's got to win it. It could be you!
