If it is an old analogue receiver and you bought it in Europe chances are high that it only receives and puts out PAL signals. The Americans do not use that. They use NTSC. In fact, most non-digital signals are in C-band and I suspect your receiver would not cover that frequency-range anyway. Furthermore, there is relatively little unenecrypted stuff left - most of the remaining analogue stuff is encrypted under VC2+.
So the answer (without knowing this specific machine) is probably: no.
