It's bad enough when the Chinese decide to blow up a satellite http://tech.slashdot.org/story/10/07/19/1917237/china-shoots-down-another-satellite

But DMSP-F13 was so near to the end of life de-orbit is the only sensible action now the debris will endanger other satellites eventually there will be so much junk up there someone will have to clear it up or satellite collisions will become very costly.
