Ive tried to set up my dish using the usals system and put in the latitude 55:36:53N (55.61472) and longitude 4:37:04W (-4.61785) co-ordinates for Irvine in scotland from Multimaps but it doesnt seem to work, what am I doing wrong I dont know which is supposed to enter, the bit inside the brackets or not? its a Technomate 1600 2ci receiver. I am a beginner and not great with technical things. The dish seemed to move as far east as possbile when I put in those settings I was on Astra 1 19.2E at the time.

you must check,that the declination angel,and the polar axis angle,is setup corect,you see like a degree scala on your motor,and in the manual is a list,with the geophgrphical kordinates,check your location,then you see the value of your declincation angle!

you have lost me already with that, thats too technical for me, the dish was set up orginally by a satellite company so I guess it was set up correctly and I changed over the receiver myself but had to find the satellites manually and I can only find 2.

Check with dishpointer.com, it's more accurate. It's the figure in the brackets.

Input the coordinates and send the dish to satellites and see.

I use my TomTom One satnav for the longitude/latitude. I get perfect results every time.

something similar, I used the gps coodinates of my n95, spot on.
