Don't know if this is normal or not but i have noticed that satellites to extreme eastern locations are a few degrees off.

Like Turksat 1C, the motor pass the correct position and miss it by 1 or 2 degree so i have to manually drive the motor back to the correct position.

Is this normal with USALS? all western satellites to extreme 45West isn't any problems, hit it on the spot.

The problem starts with extreme eastern satellites.

I've read in some other forums that other people have to nudge the motor a few degrees as it misses the correct position.

Bigger the dish then tighter the beam. So no you need a smaller dish to correct for that, and who is going to swap to a smaller dish even if it is wider angle.

Think the easy solution is just to nudge it.

Hmm....so why have they introduced USALS if it doesn't work 100% correct?

I thought the idea was that it would go to the exact position for all sats, but in my case some doesn't do that and i have to nudge them a bit.

i have same problem, all sats are fine except 42 east, can't even get a strong signal if i nudge about, only get %42 on tv8 with technomate,0.3 humax lnb and 80cm dush.

I had problem with 30 west, but got that sorted.

All sats are fine except 42east.

have you tried tweaking the dish on tv 8 with your best signel by moving didh up or down / fine tuning on dish see if improves it dont bend on the dish to hard though but it does help pulling on the dish from behide gently . bit hard to explain.
if you can improve signel on tv8 it should still be good signel on other sats or a improvent

Just input Turksat as 40*east in your receiver, this should do the trick. Mine are all over the place but only by no more than +- 1/2 degree.

One strange thing is that when i go in USALS meny and choose Panamsat 1 at 45 West it turns to about 20 East instead.

Why is that?

Probably a bug,had these problems myself before i changed to a fresh firmware in the Humax.

My motor went to 12 west instead of 12 east when it was supposed to go to Astra 2d.

Should it be like this?

I have the exact same problem.

However i think Diseqc is pretty decent and much smoother than the old 36V motors where everything had to be done manually.

Well I only speak for me here but what I did is after USALS went to the position I put in the "autofocus" of the receiver and the signal improved quite a bit. After that I saved the position with the save button and from there on USALS always went to the "saved" postion.

Up till now it is still working correct. I gave it a try again after we had some strong winds and there was just a slight signal improvement. But this could also be a little gear problem or that the satellite just moved a bit in space.

Generelly the stored position is always found on spot even after weeks for me here.
