Using non sky plus HD box for sky

My Satellite Setup
60cm on Astra 2 with TM 7100 HD, Triax 80cm dish motorised with Icecrypt S3700CHD looped into TM 5302HD, WDTV Live, Xbox360
My Location
Thanet, Kent, UK
I have a Technomate 7100 HD box which I use for a motorised dish. I also have a sky plus HD box with standard mini dish fed from quad LNB with shotgun.

Theoretically, could I get the right CAM & use my sky viewing card in my Technomate box & set it up to do away with the sky plus HD box?

Hmnnn. I know Sky pair cards to boxes so I guess the answer is no unless someone knows a workaround?

Thanks all...

There were a couple of CAMs available which could handle a Sky card, but not sure whether they still can and whether they update the card if they do work.

Pretty sure with the right patch the internal card reader will read the card. You may still need to "recharge" the card in a proper box every month or so though.

Is the 7100 a Linux receiver as I'm sure you could make it work with the right cam installed

No, it's the multiple tuner version of the 6900 variety.

I have used both the Technomate 6800 HD+ & the Technomate 5402 HD CI+ Super+ with a $ky UK viewing card, all that's needed is the latest unofficial firmware and the original $ky dodgiboxes serial number from the system info menu on the dodgibox. As said though, the card doesn't get the entitlements passed onto it from the reciever, the only non Linux based receiver that reads and writes UK N-D-S cards is the almost dead and gone Spider box series.

Once every two months for the entitlements, or its "scrambled program" message time! Lol
