using tm600 to share with each other

hi all
hope someone can help me,problem is i want my tm 600 to talk to my mums tm which has a card in it . she has a sly router and im thinking if she speaks to my tm the sly router will know what im at. dont really want to change her broadband unless i have to.any help would be great had these boxes 6 mths now there starting to get dusty.:cool:
 
If you have a Sky card and your going to share them over Sky broadband then you need your head looking at :-DOH!

Its easy enough to setup sharing with 2 TM600 boxes, but firstly i would address your ISP. Sky will not like it one little bit if they find out your sharing their card :eek:

The other issue is that Sky intend to impliment anti cardsharing measures once the card swap out is complete so it may be a no brainer to start with, although as with Sky Italias attempt to stop cardsharing it is likely it may not be that sucessfull :D

Why do you say that? How on earth would Sly know, or even bother checking, that traffic coming from a certain destination is for card sharing purposes? There is just no chance that Sly are gonna sniff a randomers internet traffic and even if they did what would they start with? TCP/UDP ports? If this is a concern simply configure the router to accept connections fom the CAM client on a standard port (80, 443, 21, 22 etc). If it's a bigger concern, simply* tunnel the connection over an encrypted connection to the server.

*I say simply here but of course everything is relative. Also, I am not sure that their isn't native encrytpion on the client/server in the various software CAM's, there may well be, which would make it even easier.
 
Would you take the risk after the last guy they caught got six months ?

It wouldn't take them much to figure out, since when doing CS your box has a tendency to be connected to the same ip or DNS address continually. Why take the risk?

And lets face it Sky broadband isn't exactly anything to shout about is it, most people i know who use it are continually moaning about how slow & unreliable it is :eek:

I'm not interested in what you can do try and stop it being detected, its easier just to use a different ISP and play it safe :toke:

Most people won't share with anyone that uses Sky Broadband anyway so its a no brainer to start with :-lmao
