Hi,

I have a sky dish and an old Sky digi box. Just brought a HD freesat box and wonder if I can split the cable from the dish to feed both boses.
Since they are both connected to the same TV I will only use one box at a time. Will this work?
I have seen Coaxial cable splitters on fleabay and wonder if that will do the trick?

Oh, the reason why I am not ditching the Sky box is parents doiint line the interfact of the HD box!

Thanks

Get a manual A/B switch - about a tenner from somewhere like Maplins. That will isolate the boxes from each other.

It is a risky thing to do, as if both boxes get switched on at the same time, you could end up with 18V and 13V at the same point after the splitter, something may get damaged.

An AB switch will or course do the trick, but it means having to keep switching it over every time.

The best way to do it would be to run another cable from the dish, with at least a quad lnb on it.
