Hi friends ...
My new superjack 24 " actuator arm and vbox 2 arrived today ..
..so have spent a large part of the day fitting the new motor to my 1.8m prime focus dish ..and trying out the vbox for the first time.
I've never used this type of positioner before and so far have only used it to manually drive the dish whilst setting up limits etc.
I did notice something that gave me cause for concern though.
I set the motor stroke to the almost fully compressed (west limit aound 60 degrees) and the vbox at 000 on the display.
Now driving the actuator to push the dish East ...and obviously the stroke lengthens.
..what concerned me is that the numbers on the Vbox positioner go all the way to 999 and wrap around to zero and begin again counting up ..long before the dish reaches the East limit.
In simple terms the box will most likely go from 0 >999 twice during the full traverse of the arc .
Is this normal ? and will it cause me problems when I start storing sat positions ?
hope this makes sense ....and that I'm worring about nothing.
