Irish crooner Val Doonican has died aged 88.

A BBC TV regular in the '60s and '70s, often appearing singing from a rocking chair wearing a nice cardigan. Very mumsy.

RIP Val....my Mum and Dad saw him at Tito's nightclub in Stockton - on - Tees in the early 70's...

A genuinely nice guy. I used to enjoy a lot of his shows with my parents. He also was responsible for introducing the wonderful Dave Allen to the world.
