Hi lads. I havent had my set up for long - triax 88, tm twin lnb, tm 2600 and openbox s10 hd. I havent been able to get a signal for 4.8e and wanting the xtra pl channels ready for next season. The club have it no probs down the road about 200 yards away from me and using a 90 cm dish as i am and there is deffo no line of sight issues. My motor was set up by 0.8w and picking up other sats fine but 4.8e is just eluding me? I have tried fine tuning with diseqc 1.2 but not getting anything. I know im using a cheap box so do u guys think that could be the issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try picking up one of the stronger transponders first, like 12111H, then see if tilting the dish a bit, improves the signal.

First of all which bit of "England" are you in?

The Viasat channels are on the Nordic beam and very weak in the UK.

I am in the north east which I have heard is one of the best areas to be for 4.8e. plus like I said the pub 200 yards away has this sat no probs with same dish as me?

Cheers analogue, so I can deffo rule out the cheepo receiver? I tweaked signal at 0.8w and it was absolutely perfect, pole is plumb and settings all spot on. I will try to get up there soon and tweak on 4.8e but I wud have thought I shud still be able to pick atleast some transponders up?

You should CERTAINLY get the European beam stuff - they can be picked up on a Sky minidish in much of the UK.

Try the fta Ukrainian stuff on 1766H 27500 3/4 - thats nice and high powered

That's funny, you're near me and I've had a similar issue. Got the best signal on 0.8W and then moved the motor to 4.8e and got nothing. For some reason it's at 5e for me, give that a go instead.

Ok well I can scan those fta Ukranian stuff and a cpl others but none of the sport channels etc that im after. One im particularly interested in is 11747v 27500. No signal at all but if i use diseqc to search east/west it picks up a signal but slightly off 4.8e but if i save position there and come out of diseqc section then signal is lost but if i go back in and press once east/west signal comes back again. Its like this openbox s10 doesnt like these transponders but its fine on other sats?

Not sure you can rule out the receiver. I had an issue with an Openbox (don't know which model) a couple of weeks ago.Was getting break-up on 28E but fine according to prof meter and Technomate RX (TM1000), but pixelation on Openbox!, seen similar issues with DM clones in the past also.

Fergy, I tweak it and find the signal (albeit slightly away from 4.8e) save position, come out to scan but signal has gone. If i go back into tweaking and press once eith east or west, signal comes immediately back?

No, send the motor to 4.8 then loosen the bolts and move it either left and right and up and down etc.

Your dish is on the small side, and the DB's are not known for their sensitive tuners.

Try finding the fta Ukrainian channels first. As mentioned above
