DM500S with OpenPLI beta
Mac OSX 10.6

I am trying to set up vlc to dream box using movie player on open pli for dm500s. My dream box sees vlc and it shows the files. At first it would start at 0% streaming. So I googled about and found some having better experiences with older versions on vlc. So I downgraded to 0.8.6. It now streams to 100% but then starts again. I am running vlc on my mac but I'm sure a solution will be cross platform.

Is the Dreambox or the Mac on a wireless connection. If so plug in via wired LAN.

Yes the mac is. My router is a bit too far away to connect with LAN. However I use the DM500 to record directly to the mac so that suggests to me that the connection speed is fast enough.

That presumes that the bitrate from VLC is identical to the Dreambox recordings. Anyway the only way to know for sure in either respect is plug it in directly.
