vu+ duo2

It'd be handy if they could transcode on the fly, so people can stream to portable devices through the internet.
There is a free vu+ app that works ok but you need to open some ports if thats what you mean...only sd format but its fine on ipad/ iphone4 and above... done it for a mate but because his router was crap and a nightmare opening ports i just set dmz on the device and changed default pass and also set http authentication to on and it works ok..also allows you to externally watch a channel without interupting viewing at home unless both tuners are being used.

some sources says that this box can be available in may
I say not :-cheers

i read that Iberian sources says that only

1 shop set it as coming soon

even prize is unknow

june possible month of avaibility just after Anga

This would explain the massive price drop in the Ultimos relative to January. Hard to get a feel for where the price will be at with th Duo2 - on the one hand the Solo2 is very reasonable, on the other this one is going to be one of the very best enthusiast boxes on the market, so could could be sky's the limit for a few months.

I think June is unlikely. Also the Ultimo is still a very capable multi-tuner receiver irrespective of what what might be coming to the market over the next few months. Another box in the same league is the Venton 3. The only major advantage, apart from pose value, you get with Solo2/Duo2 is transcoding.

I would hope that the Marysus PrismCube gets a good head start as its slated to come in cheaper than the solo2 with twin tuners running XBMC if it gets the support it deserves then this could be the future and the Solo2 will be my last Linux receiver, The Duo2 has no appeal to me what so ever

Still lots of unknowns with that. For example, what will the final hardware be, what kernel and Python version, how many simultaneous recordings will be possible, etc.

Distributors are heading to Cologne Germany. Price for this model can be as high as 999 euros but this is is for exclusive version if you remove unnecessary heads prize will be reduced to 760 euros. I hope that this is false news.No one will buy this receiver for personal use for 760 euros. Even when that will be strongest box on market.

??????????????????

Am having a guess at PRICE starting at 499€ mate.

I have now linked the video, and altered the spelling.

i've been planning to get duo but i've become aware of the duo2.

can someone tell me what the duo2 will do that the duo wont

On the fly transcoding.. and it will be faster to use. I think it will have tuner modules so you can add remove these.

Other than that... price?!

can you give me a practical example of the transcoding that it might do, thanks

If you want to watch a video over the Internet, it will transcode it on-the-fly to compress it for Internet broadcast.
