Having a look around at receivers and found site that expects demand to be very high for the Ultimo and you can pre order with a £150 deposit. Now hang on, no actual price given, no details when you will get the receiver and nothing listed about its specs. Now I am interested but elsewhere it quotes its around £590. Will anyone fork out £150 with so little info.

I would but then I am biased.

I have seen the spec and some pics from the recent event in Amsterdam.

I am unable to find out much about it as some say its far superior to Clarke Tech and Dreambox.

world of satellites a forum sponsor have it listed on the site and to email if your interested in buying once out but no taking any deposits ?

It would have to be at that price :o

Reminds me of a friend whom used to import resin animals from Italy by the jugernaut load. When I discovered they cost him £9 each and he sold them to shops for £29 who then retailed them for £49-99. I aked why he and the the shops never sold them cheaper then they would sell alot more. Oh no he said, I am the only importer, no price comparison, so the public think it must be good if it costs that much.

Here is some info from the event in Amsterdam, thanks to my good friends Matrix10 and Shiro who attended.

I have one more but it is too big to upload.

I forgot to say you won't see Enigma2 on it.

LOL I just read your post on vuplus board.

I think in time you will get to love your new box, it's like a fat bird with a nice personality :D

I think VU+ should send AS an Ultimo to test. If he can't break it in a week, it's practically bullet proof.

:D

Im up for it - and I'll write a brutally honest appraisal of the rx too :D

what's happening with the vu+ models there is the new uno single tuner receiver, is there still going to be a duo with two tuners and then the ultimo with two plus optional extra tuners like the dm8000 ?

Damn. I thought I'd be able to sneak it in under the radar without anyone noticing, but it looks like that's out the window now.

No Enigma2? Seriously?
I asked about this on the VIX forum and was told that the XBMC implementation is just a plug-in, just like project Valerie, not a replacement for E2.
