Good evening all,

For a while I've been wanting to receive 13E, 19E & 28.2 on a bedroom TV. We already have a fixed Sly dish and an 80cm motorised dish in use downstairs. As I understand, a third dish isn't exactly allowed to be installed so I was drawn to these type of systems.

As I understand they are intended for caravans and motor homes but seem pretty ideal for my needs - especially the automatic locating of satellites, much like a motorised dish. I have a flat roof outside of the bedroom where this could be housed and as it doesn't exactly look like a satellite dish, it probably wouldn't raise any issues. The portability is also useful as it means I could possibly package it up and take it to a friends house during new year, for the german festivities. (they are german themselves but never got round to getting a dish put up for 19.2). I know the dish size would only be something like 35-40cm but I'd only be really interested in picking up the strong sats.

In terms of the connectors, would it be possible to use this in a house or do they only work with cigarette lighters for example?

Interestingly, Planning guidelines refer to two Antennas, not specifically two dishes.

But the rules generally seem to be lightly enforced and are probably reactive ie triggered by a complaint from a neighbour.

Many of us have several dishes plus other antennas (does this include my Wireless Broadband antenna, I wonder?) without issue.

Make a judgement ;)

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
Upgrade/replace the fixed dish with one with a Diseqc switch connected to 3x LNBs on it, or even 1 only for Sly + the other two for 13/19E via the switch.

Not difficult to get a fixed dish with 3 LNB's on a multi-feed bracket to get the stronger transponders on 13/19/28E at the same time - might manage it with a 60cm /Sly Zone 2 dish , but might better with a 70cm although the beam view angle is slightly narrower ("most" of the neighbours would not notice the difference!)

OTOH, especially true in the London area - lot's of dishes on one building (certainly around here in W. London)
