but when i search for channels it says :
WAITING FOR TUNER LOCK

Try a satellite scan :) if that´s not working You are looking at the wrong satellite.
 
hi all friends all so i have same problam. it was power offed and then i was open box 500. it was bourn one capacitor i was fix it and then i was on it there was no softwere.i was put agine gimini 4.0 which was befor also working.but it was not loking satellit.i was put darkstar II but same problam.
 
Are the dish and motor setup correctly?
 
Dreambox tuners are not the greatest. A dish that works with another receiver may not work with a Dreambox as it is not very tolerant of a poor setup.
 
i have a clone,and have this problem frequently on the weaker sats.sometimes trying 3 or 4 times fixes it.
make sure the strongest transponders are in the list it tries.
 
Had the same issue - SNR stays at 59% - 60%.

I followed instructions to change the LNB setting, and that worked for me:

First find out what type of LNB you have. Sounds like it has a LO of 11.300 and NOT a Universal one.

You need to turn your Dreambox on.
Press MENU
Press SETUP
Press SERVICE SERCHING
Press SATELLITE CONFIGURATION

On the next screen you will see a list of Satellites. After the name of the satellite is a box with called LNB, the entry in that box is probably "0". Move the curser to this box and press OK/ENTER

You will see two lines. LOF/L and LOF/H change the entries on both these lines to "11300"

After that you press GREEN to save the data. You will only need to make this change once, not on every LNB box with "0" in it.

Now go back out of the menu and try to scan again.

I had a similar problem with a 600. I would get SNR of about 64% with a low AGC, so I couldn't get a lock. Tried various LNB settings for my monobloc (Astra 1/Hotbird) LNB but it didn't help. Finally solved it by connecting the coax a bit less tightly - SNR jumped right up to 94% with AGC around the same.
 
It is wrong to Transistor Q72, PFET FND358 (NDS352) 1A ... 30V.

Hey for all!

For some 500S, if Alps tuner is used, only when signal quality is >74%, it can be locked; for Phillips tuner, only when signal quality is >66%, it can be locked. maybe your dish is strayed from the correct direction or you make a wrong switchsetting or you should inspect PCB u70 (LT1930) Q72 F70 parts.
