Quite obviously you have never lived here :P never hear of the Leeds Liverpool canal Paul that goes over the Pennines and it is full of mainly water and the odd Tesco trolley

Well ive already swam the canal.... many times

well across it.... and i fell in a lock when i was younger :)

so its time for the long walk (260 miles over rough ground!!)

I live near the Leeds-Liverpool canal!!! And I just found a boat in me shed... :D

Hmm, me get ideas... :D

its all just been opened up... well over the last few years and its all cleaned out...new lock etc

seen quiet a few boats on it... i have a pic of a guy in a kayak lol

Haven't been near the Leeds Liverpool canal for ages since, oh, at least you didn't need to swim as you could walk over it!

Question, If you're swimming, how would you negotiate the locks? I doubt they would raise and lower them just for one swimmer. When I went for a trip up the Manchester Ship Canal a few weeks ago, at one point we had to wait in a lock for 3/4 of an hour for a grain barge to catch us up and pass through at the same time.

Even though it all has been upgraded, I wasn't really serious about swimming it for that very reason, apart from the fact that there is still a lot of pollution in those waters
