Water on lnb cap.

With all this heavy rain lately i have had some problems on the digi tv transponders at 1w.
I have heard a spray of wd40 on the lnb cap can help the rain run off, but can wd40 damage my channel master feedhorn cap, has anyone tryed this and has it worked.
 
You could try silicone furniture polish, rain-x rain repellent, or Wurth Motorcycle Visor Rain Repellent.
 
Plus one for Furniture Polish.
 
Will any furniture polish do, Also can it damage the cap.
 
Has to be silicone based polish and no it won't damage the cap.
 
Living in Scotland Ive sprayed my lnb caps with WD40, GT85, & Tescos cheap WD40 rip off, and never had any problems with any of the caps from multiple manufacturers
 
There are also dedicated rain covers available, or you can make your own one out of a yoghurt pot.
