wd passport essential hdd for TM5200 help

Hi hope someone can help me in this font of knowledge!!
I have got a hdd for the TM5200 which is a wd passport essential but I cant get it to work with the TM it either crashes or states that the file system is not compatible but I cant change it when it is connected to the computer, help!!all I want to do is record the odd film and programme :confused:
I have gone into pvr management but with no joy

hello mate i,ve got a 5200 super all you need to do is format the hard drive to fat 32 which i done through a program called swissknife it,s freeware google it and away you go

I will give that a try, I am using a 8gb flashdrive at the moment but want to expand the memory to the hdd,
