Pink Floyd originally did The Great Gig In The Sky. Rick Wakeman has done quite a creditable cover.

Not many Dire Straits covers in the thread so far - but here is a thrash/death sort of metal version of Sultans of Swing :D

Way back in the dim & distant mists of time when I started this thread (aka November 2011 :D ) we had German rock band Avantasia doing Dancing With Tears In My Eyes. Now Ive found them doing Lay All Your Love On Me

Stardate September 1982. Toto rack up the biggest hit of their careers with Africa. An ongoing favourite for covers here is Weezer doing something horrible to it......

Anyway back to the covers. Helloween doing a decent cover of Space Oddity. Unusually for these covers its quite faithful to the original

I posted The Aurora Project a couple of pages back doing Asia's ballad Never In A Million Years. Now Ive fond them doing anothe John Wetton song - The Last To Know.

Keeping with the Toto - Africa theme here one of the excellent Japanese covers of it.

NHK World have a regular segment called Blends where traditional Japanese instruments are used to play covers of well know songs. Some of them are absolutely cracking, and are well worth keeping an eye out for.
