Weird NO SIGNAL issue from standby

My Satellite Setup
Channel Master 1.8M on Edision MIO 4K & GTMEDIA Combo, and CM1.2M on Octagon SF8008
My Location
Kent, UK
Got an Edision 4K E2 STB - TUNER A = motorised sat, TUNER B = 28.2e.

if its in standby for a few hours, when i bring it out of standby - there is no signal \ no picture.

i have to reboot it for the signal to come back....happens on either tuner.

any ideas...its not the latest image i must say

Does this problem happen when you start up with any transponder, or just with horizontal transponders?
(possibly inrush current protection)

it doesn't seem to matter.

what i have noticed is i dont actually need to restart GUI.

if i switch from a channel on 28.2e (appearing dead) to another sat on the other Tuner A picture and signal returns, and then if i switch back to Tuner B on 28.2e - its fine also.

very odd

i will try reflashing however, it is ringing bells of a distant past when i had the same issue...

i switched to OPENATV as a test, and its been fine
must be my old VIX image giving me jip

so, as i can't stand OPENATV - mainly the file manager, i thought i'd try PURE2 - a great image indeed.

however, im getting the same NO SIGNAL error as i was with VIX image.

does anyone know if there is something fundamentally different with OPENATV IMAGES (no issue with the signal thing) - to the ones such as OPENVIX and PURE2 ? different kernal \ core etc...?

im now running a DEBUG LOG and will check in the morning....

Do you have a second - different brand - receiver to run each image as a comparison ? I'm wondering if the tuner drifts when in standby, and falls outside the capture frequency once on.

Otherwise see if offsetting the LNB Lo by 1MHz either way.

i played around with OPENATV again, and they have a SKIN available called the DEFAULT skin, which is quoite ironic, as its not the default skin the image comes with - and this puts the box into almost a VIX looking image. even the file manager looks ok - very happy with it now

Did playing with it widen your 'aperture' ?
