You'd have thought the Padre would have brought sanity, but he was as bonkers as the rest of them (And as bonkers as all the real-life Padres I encountered during my years in the Royal Navy)

Maybe we should have a dearly departed thread each year and have all the trivbutes in one place??
 
Nice idea, but it might get confusing if there are a few passings in short order, as responders will all have different allegiances, so posts will be harder to follow if they're all mixed up.
 
My wife and I used to watch MASH together in the flat we shared before we got married. She was also adto hear the news.

I prefer having individual threads myself. It gives some importance to each announcement that way.

EDIT - I see that he died on Saturday so he's still one of 2016's departed.
 
As for M*A*S*H, it proved divisive in our family: My dear departed dad hated the idea of any form of levity, however black, in relation to the horrors of war (He was a WW2 veteran, of course), whereas as a Trainee Officer my colleagues were actively encouraged to take note of many of the issues the series raised, especially in terms of coping strategies.
 
You'll remember the clucking chicken on the bus episode then. Not many laughs that week.

Loved M.A.S.H., was a BIG big part of my childhood, My dad let me watch even though some of themes ect were too old for me. R.I.P. William C.

Yes, it's often available on one or other of the minor Channels.

And the Film is regularly aired, too.
