Hello there!
I'm new in here so first I wanted to say Hi:)

Now,
I put my hands on couple CAMs lately, namely Dragon, T-Rex, Magic, Matrix Revolutions and Matrix Reborn.

So, what can I open with each of those?
(I'm posting to dragon forum cause I think that is my best bet for a cam:))

Are MMs/Matrixes worth anything these days?

What about smartcards (I have 1 Prussian5 and couple Goldcards), i mean can they be of any use except for updating the Dragon (I have a CAS3, so no need for that)?

PS: Any chance to open Canal+? No? I thought so...

Dont try tinned items or jars as the cams will bend
Dragon is a T/rex and they will be fine but the rest are opening less as each day goes by

Perhaps to a pure hobbyist or someone who likes to experiment with little or no financial outlay and no guarantee of results

[FONT=&quot]The Dragon and T-Rex (the same CAM) will open odd scraps - a few Cryptoworks packages (not DT any more) and other bits. Have a search here for which ones they are. Even less for the other CAMs but don't bin them. You never know. Dragon will carry a Sky card too.

These will surely be of some more use in the future, though it looks like the Diablo with larger memory and even wireless/sharing capability may now wear the yellow jersey. They do Premiere right now.

Canal+? No. The French version is open now on the new K3 card with the correct files. **** buying one of those though! :-rofl2

Your cards are not much cop these days, but again, stick them at the back of a drawer. We've been surprised before :)[/FONT]

Seems like I'd have to spend some money on this new hobby of mine (the stuff i own now, got it free from a friend:))... Say, if a friend of mine is claiming that he opens more stuff on his Echostar than I do on my Strong (the very same CAM), does it mean that he's wrong or that the Strong is sh*t?;) Any advice on a budget receiver if you think I should get some other one?
 
The trouble is that, well, we don't know what your m8 is telling you!

If he says that he has something open and you're not sure if it's true, ask us and we'll confirm or deny PDQ :D

If you have the same CAM, then you can open exactly the same stuff, pretty much regardless of your receiver. There is a huge opportunity for bullshit in this game :)
