On my recent travels to Oxfordshire, I came upon an estate (a posh one) which had a number of these dishes erected. Looks like Visiosat dishes - just quite like these as they look quirky!

They're not uncommon in this neck of the woods :)

At a guess Integrated Reception System.

The photo does start me off on one of my hobby horses (q.f. Penta dishes). I don't suppose that there is a special LNBF to go with the shape of the dish, is there? In which case it's either underperforming or wasting metal in the dish.

Pricey indeed! But a good candidate for multi satellite reception - for some reason, I really don't like the look of Wave Frontier dishes. What's the range on these?

There's this one :

http://www.hm-sat-shop.de/en/antennen-visiosat/visiosat-big-bisatmulti-lnb-antenne.html

which handles 8 lnb's and is 91cm x 70cm...however, it's a different design to those in your photo's... or this one (74cm x 64cm) which is closer to the photo's...

http://www.2galli.fr/boutique/fiche_produit.cfm?ref=BISATG1&type=28&code_lg=lg_fr&num=21

which can be adapted to take this multisat support....

Yes, an ideal dish for multisat setup.

Not surprising as it's a larger dish...

No special LNBs, you are seeing waste of fibre-glass (mostly).
As the wavefrontiers, they have a (horinzontal) focal line rather than a focal point, and designed for multi-lnb set-up.
From the pics it looks like they could have been done using somewhat smaller normal round dishes, as there is only one LNB smack centre.
But, admittedly they look more spacey, so you may be waatching them employed as "designer-dishes".

Number one and three won't stay up long with the T/K's so close together

Don't forget the Maximum E85, cheaper and effective.

Yes, they may as well have used Triax or Gibertini as I suspect they wanted to get away from the boggo $ly dish!

Glasgow,ish!
Seen a good few of them up here being used for the same purpose as well. A bit OTT for a communal install, what's up with a Triax dish these days?
