what do I need to get started?

Hi all I am thinking of moving over to sat from VM cable at the moment I use a dm500c so would like to stick with this model for sat by using a 500s version.


1: what do I need appart from ccam.cfg to decript s*y and other sats I know I will need a cam which is the best to use.
2: do I need to have a hardware cam eg card or will a softcam work.

As already mentioned please be aware of our rules concerning C a b l e talk. I realise it is difficult as you a wanting to convert from one to the other, but please abide by the rules.

As regards your request, if you are thinking that you can enjoy the delights of free viewing to the same extent that the VM hobbyists have for a number of years, you need to be aware that you will need either a valid subscription to sky to view or belong to a C/S scheme as keys have never been an option for sky sat TV and again there are very definite rules to follow on this if that is your intention. As your intentions have not bee made aware in your first post which do we assume is your considered course of action
