What exactly happens when you plug power with the front button pressed?

Anyone know what the operation does? Does it erase image, channel lists, transponders, flash memory or any other settings?

The reason for asking is that I by accident recorded 12Mb into the flash which now gives me green screen complaining about "no space left on device". I don't have the password for erasing hdd/media via Telnet. When I erase it using remote or web interface it first seems ok but the file is still there no matter what.

When you write a new flash, it simply erases whatever is there.

Why do you not have the password? There are ways to reset it...
