Hey,

New here so please take it easy on me...

I have been thinking of upgrading my HDD in my Sky+HD box (Pace 9F3002) - as the HD programs are starting to fill the drive pretty quickly - but as there are loads of makes and models of HDD's out there I was wondering which one I preferably should go for?

I read that I should get a 1TB drive as this is the max this model can handle. Also I take it I need to do some Copy+ stuff from my original drive over to the new drive. I'm using a Mac so I would be booting up in XP, and I do have a spare SATA caddy that I can use. Is it just a matter of copying the image (with Copy+) over to the desk top in XP and then transferring this back to the new 1TB drive and that's it?

Any replies and pointers are welcomed :-)

As I can't edit my post (strange) I have another question regarding the Copy+ function:

As my Laptop HDD is only 500Gb, how would I be able to copy over a full image of 300Gb as my Laptop's HDD has less than 100Gb free or is the image much less?

Certain privileges, such as editing your posts, are restricted for new members of the forum. This was introduced to combat spammers who were joining the forum, making an innocuous post and then coming back later to fill it full of rubbish.

Stay with us, make a few more posts and those privileges will come automatically to you.

Can't help too much with your query except that you may be able to mount both old and new HDDs as external USB drives and copy straight across. You'd need a second SATA caddy though.
